Challenge
Al Zeina is a mixed-use development located in Al Raha Beach, Abu Dhabi. The community comprises 315,000m2 of residential (apartments and villas) and retails area and a basement parking of approximately 128,000 m2.
Solutions
ENGIE Solutions conducted a detailed energy audit of Al Zeina residential facilities (common areas) and proposed a number of energy conservation measures to reduce the energy bill. Following the recommendations, PROVIS appointed ENGIE Solutions to replace the hot water system which is one of the largest end users of energy consumption, only second to the HVAC.
The project comprised the turn-key replacement of existing electrical boiler water heating system with heat pump system. The heavy size of the equipment required the use of a helicopter to lift the new heat pumps to the roof.
