Our client, Emirates National Schools (ENS) was established in 2002 and is owned by the Ministry of Presidential Affairs (MOPA). ENS currently consist of five campuses – three campuses in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and two campuses in the Emirates of Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah.
Emirates National School wanted to identify and implement energy conservation measures at the Ras Al Khaimah campus with a total capacity of approximately 1,200 students.
The ENGIE Solution: An on-grid photo voltaic system
ENGIE Solutions installed an On-Grid (Zero Export) Photo Voltaic System at this facility. The scope consisted of installing 782.62 kWp on-grid system on the sandwich panel roofs of the school campus, covering the gymnasiums and swimming pools with four point of connection to connect the PV system to the grid.
The roof was waterproofed prior to installation. The design and engineering scope included shading analysis, simulation reports, structural and wind load calculations, issuing roof layout drawings with modules and weather station installation details.
The operation and maintenance service offering included:
- Overall system health monitoring and alert management with PV monitoring platform
- Establishing cleaning schedule
- Corrective maintenance, including but not limited to warrantee replacements
- Supply of spares and consumables
The installation was carried out in compliance with Federal Electricity and Water (FEWA) and RAK Municipality regulations and standards and the project went live in 2021.
