Retrofitting represents an opportunity to deliver significant energy savings and carbon reduction over the long term, with the International Energy Agency estimating that building and construction sectors are responsible for over 30% of global final energy consumption and nearly 40% of total direct and indirect CO2 emissions. A green retrofit EPC includes improving the energy efficiency of lighting, air conditioning, ventilation, and other mechanical systems while increasing the quality of insulation.

RAKEZ partnered with ENGIE Solutions to protect, maintain and nurture the ecosystem by tapping into the latest innovations and move closer to achieving their green goals.

The ENGIE Solution: Retrofitting to improve demand-side energy

ENGIE Solutions carried out full retrofitting of RAKEZ facilities which covers nine buildings, including a district cooling plant. The project, which was part of RAKEZ’s contribution towards the targets of RAK Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Strategy 2040, extended over five years, and provided guaranteed energy and water savings.

The energy conservation measures implemented across the RAKEZ buildings included HVAC, lighting, water & building controls.
