Dubai, UAE, 10 March 2019: Cofely Besix Facility Management (CBFM), the region’s leading provider of complex FM and energy service solutions, has appointed Bart Holsters as the UAE’s new General Manager.
Holsters brings over 15 years of experience working in facilities management and construction in Europe and the Middle East across various roles within business management, planning and financial oversight.
Prior to joining Cofely Besix Facility Management, Holsters worked for Cofely Services in Belgium from 2004-2009, before moving to the Middle East. He joined CBFM in 2009 as Facility/Operations Manager of the Burj Khalifa for a period of 3 years and moved to Qatar in September 2012 as Lead Project Manager for the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC).
In 2014 Holsters returned to the UAE as UAE Operations Manager for CBFM, and was later promoted to Head Energy Services, ESCO & Renewables in 2016.
“I am delighted to take on my new challenge as the General Manager of CBFM as I have seen the company grow from its infancy back in 2010 to become the market leader it is today,” said Holsters.
“The current FM service delivery model is expected to go through rapid transformation due to the availability of emerging technologies and data science. I have always had a passion for systems and technology, and I am determined to further digitalise the way we operate today by driving efficiencies through data science and becoming a long-term strategic partner rather than being a traditional ‘cost centre’ for our customers is my ultimate goal,” he added.
As UAE General Manager, Holsters leads a team of 1,600 employees and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day business operations and collaborating with company executives to develop strategic plans for business growth based on short-term and long-term goals, as well as communicating those goals to the team, and guiding them to success.
“We are very excited to have Bart on board in his new role, as he knows our company very well and is a system level thinker with a great passion for sustainability and operational efficiency,” explained Miles Webb, COO of Cofely Besix Facility Management.
“Bart has been actively involved in defining and implementing of company strategy as well as with the development and implementation of business standards, processes and platforms leading the company in accordance with strategic plans, operating and capital budgets for many years now. He shows extreme commitment and ownership towards the business and continuously seeks for improvement of both operational and commercial results in view of assuring long-term competitive advantages within the industry,” added Webb.
